With varying sounds, sights, smells that depict each individuals' definition of home, many feel similar conflicting feelings upon returning after an extended absence from this environment. All images are black and white digital imagery of mundane yet personal scenery and belongings paired with text describing personal insights.
Along with artists Francesca Woodman, Sophie Calle, and Paul Graham having a strong artistic influence on me, my visual journal 24 Hours also influenced my decision to continue with retentive visual journaling methods such as creating a series that was a month long process. A personal exploration series, July is a narrative about a segment of our lives that requires reflection and conflict, a crossroads. Describing the power nostalgia, July shows how this power changes our reflection process, our views on ourselves and decision making on our futures.
