Project Four Proposal
The goal from my final project of Advance Digital Photography is to create "Seamlessness" photographs. After hearing the responses from the art department in my pre-thesis presentation, I decided I will continue expanding on the ambiguous ways relationships can affect an individual's self-knowledge and confidence. These ideas correspond to my conceptual idea for the semester, the magic of a “personal story”. My photographs will consist of me continuing to perform as different characters. I will continue photographing in first and third person perspective. I will also toy with this idea of distance and location when photographing in third person perspective to create abstraction. I will then Photoshop the two images of the different individuals together. I will then be placing handwritten text inconspicuously throughout my photographs. These notes will be from important relationships throughout my life and insights from childhood diaries. I plan to experiment with placing these words on my body and bare skin to pull viewers in and demonstrate the lasting effects of these words and relationships. I hope to be creating a dialogue of emotions, rather than a narrative. Something I have striven for throughout in my photography is the readability for my viewers. My professors felt to tell me they were able to put themselves in project three's images due to the point of view it was photograph in. Calling it "mysterious" and enjoying the tone black and white coloring, I enjoy the fact many of these photos were seen as perspectives of emotions we feel in relationships. I want to continue to have my viewers place themselves within the scene yet with pulling them in. I hope that these abstract takes to these everyday scenes will leave my audience with a deeper message about the everlasting marks we make in people lives.
