"Whenever you feel lost, remember this: there are still over 7 billion people in the world you have yet to meet. There are nearly two hundred beautiful counties for you to explore. There are so many new exciting foods you haven't tried yet. There are still so many adventures to be had. So, just hold on, because there are many wonderful things coming your way." I basically moved to Atlanta with a single (yes one) box of clothes and a lot of hope and excitement. After a year of living at home I knew I wanted a new experience with a touch of city life. But let's be real. Change is really scary especially when all the people you've been with day in and day out are now 10 hours away instead of down the street or even down the hallway. I've been adjusting to making friends all over again (I had forgotten what it was like to be the "new kid"!) and besides my co workers at the High Museum of Art, I was getting desperate to meet some new but safe faces. In the true spirit of community over competition, I reached out to the Atlanta chapter of Rising Tide Society hoping to connect and was welcomed with open arms. We got to meet up at East Cobb Park in Marietta and do a headshot swap! The results were beautiful; so many different artists with unique styles. I was over joyed not only to have my own breathtaking headshots to share of myself and others but to be walking away with some new sidekicks. Maybe they'll keep me in ATL when home is pulling me back ;)
