"I am learning everyday to allow space between where I am and where I want to be to inspire me and not terrify me." I haven't been able to stop thinking about all the positive feedback and support I received from my pre-thesis interview lately. Many of the faculty supported the recent black and white work I did, but many also enjoyed and was interested in the text element in my first project. Many challenged me to think why I enjoy the text photographs over the black and white and what was successful about the black and white photos. It was honestly the most overwhelming feeling to see people understanding my message.
With all of this in mind, I am SO excited to announced my thesis show will be presented April 18th through the 22nd. The reception will be held at Gallery 130 in Meek Hall April 21 4-6pm. My thesis will be shown with a painter and ceramics artist, Hunter Jonhson and Sarah Adzick. These ladies are awesome and I'm so excited to see how we'll present our different styles as we create a whole body work in about three months! With winter break being here I'm excited to continue photographing. I want to start incorporating other people's personal letters and notes for my text "tattoos". I also want to continue exploring interesting environments like the abandoned house I photographed at for my final. I also get to begin my job search and I have a new little freelance graphic design gig I'll be working on over break! I am very blessed girl! ☀️
